Now, he is trying to get me to debate him on a the exact words of a point I already admitted were exaggerated. I PMed him on this and said again that it was an exageration and offered to debate him instead on what was and wasn't speculation. He flat out refused and said that we were to debate via e-mail over the exact words of a deliberate overstatement. After this, I decided that it was a poorly disguised trap and that in fact their was nothing to debate about other than to try to obtain a shallow victory by using my admittion of it not being precise and instead using a number intended to convey a point and to add to effect. I have decided not to walk into it.
Now, I have offered to debate him here in the open so he cannot misrepresent what I said later and try to hang me with lies. I figured that here we could rely on at least one moderator to make sure the debate keeps clean and nobody else interferres. His refusal to debate in the open indicates he wanted to do just that.
Anyway, If he tries to lie about what he sent me via PM I will post the text of all the PMs between us here and send screen shots to anyone interested to prove it.
Perhaps, but I just don't trust him after our last debate where he kept saying I was misquoting things I was copy/pasting off his site. Even so, the rest of my point still stands. He is trying to lead me into a trap and I am simply not going to step in it.
Anyway, your trying to use the 95% statement against me is lame. The fact of the matter is I already admitted it was exaggerated and thus inaccurate. Your insistance on debating that one line with me is a trap that I will avoid.
Fine, I wish to debate what is and isn't speculation on your website. Speculation is narrow enough. Lets do it here in the open where there are no secrets.
I am backing out because you tried to lure me into a trap. It was an unwinnable debate because I had already admitted it was overstated. Quite simply, there was nothing to debate.
Look at this thread. Deathbringer came right out and said that if we kept it civil it would be fine to do it here. I want it out in the open for everyone both here and your buddies at SD.net (yes, I do lurk over there from time to time, no, I will never join) to see.
As for your posting here infrequently, you're a big boy, you can post wherever you want. As for me, I loathe to give out my email address to anyone who isn't a friend or family.
And moderators can control that. He is the one ducking me. I in turn challenged him to a public debate and he refused. So how is it he can claim that I am the one ducking him? I simply refuse to give out my e-mail address. That is why I won't do it via e-mail. He is hiding something and that is why he won't debate it here.
